This might take a minute to explain…
The Magnetic Resonator Piano (MRP) is an electronically-augmented acoustic piano which uses a series of magnets combined with sensors to resonate, bend and torment the piano’s strings, creating infinite sustain, crescendos, harmonics, pitch bends and incredible new timbres. It works similarly to the way an E-Bow works with a guitar but for a piano.
The MRP was used for the first time in popular music on These New Puritans‘ album ‘Field of Reeds‘, and will now be on display for the public to experience at The Vinyl Factory Space, 180 The Strand, London, WC2R IEA
East India Youth will perform on the piano on 19 April at 1130 in the morning.
